RTA Bus Stop Design Project

RTA Bus Stop Design Project

The Kettering Public Art Committee Joins with the Capital Improvement Program to create a community partnership to enhance the city’s streets and neighborhoods through improvements in bus stop designs.  The Dayton Regional Transit Authority provided funding to the City of Kettering to combine with the Public Art 1% funding to contract with an artist in designing a signature bus stop specifically for Kettering.

The bus stop will define and identify Kettering as an individual travels into the city and throughout.

Three Ohio artists were requested to submit designs for the project.  From the three, Dayton artist and architect, Mary Rogero was chosen to finalize her design into technical drawings for the fabrication and installation of the bus stops.

The installation of the first three bus stop locations at Cardington and Kettering Boulevard, Winding Way and Far Hills and Foxdale and Far Hills, were completed in April of 2007.  Additional bus stops will be completed and installed in future progression.  For more information on the work by Mary Rogero and her architectural firm, Rogero Bachman Architecture contact www.RBaOH.com.
