The Rosewood Gallery specializes in the exhibition of contemporary art by emerging local, regional and national artists. It is dedicated to the encouragement and creation of new works and to the promotion of the visual arts in the Dayton, Ohio, area. Eight exhibitions are presented each year in the Rosewood Gallery, sponsored by the City of Kettering Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts, with support from the Kettering Arts Council and the Ohio Arts Council. A selection committee composed of regional art professionals will make recommendations from submissions of work for exhibition (10 images from slides or digital images). Notifications of the jurors' decision will be mailed by the end of May of the jury year.

All media will be considered for exhibition, including video and installation pieces. The Rosewood Gallery has chosen to concentrate on exhibitions by individual artists over groups of artists, but two-person shows will be considered if the work compliments each other. Proposals should be professionally presented; the Gallery Coordinator reserves the right to reject any illegible or incomplete presentations. Exhibit proposals should include the following:

1. A cover letter describing the proposed exhibition, any special installation requirements, and available dates.

2. A resume, artist's statement, and previous exhibition record.

3. Exactly ten (10) 35 mm slides of work or ten (10) images and a corresponding slide list stating titles, media and dimensions. The committee will be presented with only 10 images for consideration, regardless of how many more are submitted. Each slide should be labeled with the artist's name, title of work, medium and dimensions. There should be an indication of the "top" of the slide and a number to correspond to the accompanying slide list. Digital submissions should be in JPEG format, 1000 at widest/tallest dimention (72 dpi) and must be labeled with the artist’s last name and entry number corresponding with the list provided. 4. A self-addressed, stamped envelope for notification and return of information and slides.

The City of Kettering insures all works while on exhibit and covers printing and distribution costs of an announcement mailer for each exhibit. A transportation and shipping honorarium is usually provided to artists. Any cost reimbursement requirements over and above the $100 honorarium should be listed and explained in the proposal.
